In a surprise, the number of players reached just 107 for this WSOP Main Event Tournament. Each will pay the $10,000 entry fee for participation. Play will continue until 27 entrants are left. There were still numbers of top players in attendance like Jennifer Harman, Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein, Lee Watkinson, Tuan Le, Mark Seif, Martin de Knijff, Allen Cunningham, Alan Goehring, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson and Mimi Tran to name a few.

Eliminations began with top player Minh Ly who was sent packing quickly when the 3 of a kind could not hold up to an opponents straight flush. Others who followed include Mark Seif, Joe Sebok, Daniel Negreanu, John Murphy, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Lee Watkinson, Jennifer Harman and Ted Forrest. The field has been narrowed to 27 players. Some who did not survive to this round include Martin de Knijff, Andy Bloch, Ron Rose, Max Pescatori, Russ Hamilton and Jim Meehan. Today's action will continue the elimination until the final table of 9 is reached.

Chris had Ad Jc, Layne had As Kh and the dealer laid on the felt 8h Js 6d, turn card was 5c and the river was a 7c making Chris the winner with a pair of Jacks.
