California Online Poker Games

California Online Poker Games are scheduled to become a reality in the year 2010. With the huge budget deficit problems that plague what used to be the 8th largest economy in the world, leaders are considering allowing interstate online poker to be regulated. Gambling brought money into the state coffers back in the 1990's when a recession hit the economic giant in the pocketbook, so now state leaders are looking for a new resource of income. Once approved, it will bring in an estimated $260 million to the state in the first year and grow to $645 million in the tenth year of activity.

A recent analysis on regulation of the market in the state of Florida has an estimate of $100,000,000 annually after the third year of operation, so many are viewing this as an opportunity to ease fiscal pain. Sacramento is currently paying $80 million dollars a day in unemployment benefits and wrote out over $1 billion dollars of benefits in July according to the statistics of the Employment Development Department. Still others want to make sure they are properly represented such as the smaller Indian tribes and card rooms throughout the state. Check back here from time to time and get news updates on the subject.
