Event #50 Pot-Limit Omaha

Day 1
Buy-in: $5,000
Players: 460
Prize pool: $2,162,000 to the top 45 finishers

Event #50 Pot-Limit Omaha's list of entrants included Dan Heimiller, Nam Le, Tom McEvoy, James Akenhead, Josh Arieh, Michael Mizrachi, Matt Glantz, Alexander Kostritsyn, Richard Ashby, Chau Giang, David Chiu, Phil Hellmuth, Davidi Kitai, Annette Obrestad, Lucovic Lacay, Nenad Medic, Mike Matusow, Chris Moneymaker, Vivek Rajkumar, Barry Greenstein and Vanessa Selbst. Players will begin with 3,000 in chips plus three add-on chips worth 4,000 each. They may choose to use them all at the start and sit down with a complete 15,000 chip stack, or they can cash them in at any point during the first 4 levels. And for those Phil Hellmuth fans out there, he showed up at the beginning of level 4 to play.

Early busts happened to Daniel Negreanu, Shawn Buchanan and Kirk Morrison. David Chiu was eliminated after meeting the full house of his opponent (9's/2's) made on the flop. Tony Cousineau also turned over the last of his chips on an all-in move to the winning player after that person produced two pair (K's and 9's) that Cousineau could not beat. At the end of the day, there were 207 that will return for Day 2.

Day 2

Some of the players coming back for Day 2 are Phil Ivey with 23,000 chips, Fabrice Soulier with 25,800, Men "The Master" Nguyen with 51,000, Markus Lehmann with 40,100, Annette Obrestad 73,600, Phil Hellmuth 29,900, Kirill Gerasimov 46,900, John Cernuto 28,100, Barney Boatman 52,000 and Andy Black having 31,700 in his corner.

Eeeek! Scott Fischman had 12,300 at the start, but was railbound after busting 12 minutes into play. It happened so fast, we could not catch the hand. Dan Shak also met with grave misfortune, losing over 100,000 chips in an hour which resigned him to the railbird section. Kevin Boudreau was on fire as he jumped to 200,000 after busting both Nikolay Evdakov and Ted Forrest in the same hand. This helped Boudreau to sail to the final table to try for a gold bracelet. Howard Lederer was not so lucky as his all-in effort failed to overcome the full house (K's/10's) of Edward Martin. Joe Beevers busted Yevgeniy Timoshenko when his Aces up (A A 8 2) held to the river. Erica Schoenberg had to mosey away from the field after losing it all to the straight made by Benny Spindler. John Cernuto was eliminated when Alan Reyf made a diamond flush on the river card.

Day 3 will see 31 for the final slugfest for the bracelet. Here are the top 9 with Chip Counts:
