Event #57 Main Event Day 1B

12:03 PM
At 12 noon, tournament director turned the microphone over to the WSOP Dealer of the Year, who is known by the name Ashley to start Day 1B with the directive to "Shuffle Up and Deal!". She also was given a very beautiful watch as an award for becoming the dealer of the year.

In the field were Jean-Robert Bellande, 2006 Main Event Winner Jamie Gold, Dan Shak, John D'Agostino, Dan Harrington, John 'Tex' Barch, Phil Galfond, Ryan Hughes, Karina Jett, Markus Gonsalves, John Kabbaj and Mike Wattel. Definitely expect many more big names to show up.

12:39 PM
Additional faces are now popping up in the chairs like Annette Obrestad, Ivan Demidov, Phil Laak, James Mackey, Tuan Le, Gavin Smith, Perry Friedman, Jared 'TheWacoKidd' Hamby, baseball legend Orel Hershiser, Gregg Merkow, Chris Bjorin, Minh Ly, Tom Schneider, Jos Luis Velador, David Plastik, Bertrand Grospellier, J.C. Alverado, Erica Schoenberg, Barbara Enright, Jason Rosenkrantz, Shane Schleger, Jennifer Tilly, Liv Boeree, Mark Seif and George Lind.

Robert Williamson III came in the doors, but with 4 incredibly gorgeous women for an entourage. It was deeply appreciated by those of us who have been staring at nothing but cards and different hands these past 45 days.

1:43 PM
In about 1 hour, Mark Seif makes an early exit, going out almost as fast as he came in. Dan Shak is gone as well. Shak packed his belongings after the paired 4's he made with the last of his chips were swept aside by the paired Aces of his opponent. Arnaud Mattern from France is ghost and is no longer in the field after busting out.

2:19 PM
Robber Iler who played Anthony Soprano Jr. on the crime drama 'The Sopranos' is seated with cards and chair at the Main Event.

3:26 PM
2006 Main Event Winner Jamie Gold will not get a chance for another bracelet as he has busted out of the Main Event. But his mom Jane Gold is still in the running.

5:03 PM
Official numbers for Day 2 are 1489 players that entered. The top 5 players at this time are:
  1. Robert Miller -- 150,000 chips
  2. Kido Pham -- 110,000 chips
  3. Jim Collopy -- 108,000 chips
  4. Todd Witteles -- 100,000 chips
  5. Phil Galfond -- 86,000 chips
Still in the game are Ludovic Lacay 64,000, Roberto Romanello 62,000, Gavin Griffin 52,000, Erica Schoenberg 44,000, Jon Turner 44,000, Brandon Cantu 43,000, Perry Friedman 27,000 and Blair Rodman 26,000.

6:08 PM
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier who wore a suit of a different cut covered in rhinestones, ended up looking very flashy on his way to the rail after losing the balance of his chips. With a table having K J 10 10, he moved all-in with 7 10 which gave him a set. His caller met him head on with A Q which gave him a straight and the rest of Elky's chips.

6:17 PM
A few minutes later, John D'Agostino headed for the rail after being busted. D'Agostino went in preflop with pocket J's with his caller having K 5 suited. Another King came on the flop and held to the river, sealing the fate of D'Agostino. Pro player Brett "Gank" Jungblut had not been seen in his chair for a while. A quick check on the list provided by the WSOP told us he was not going to come back period.

7:02 PM
The newest group of players leaving the field include Joe Sebok, Robert Williamson III, Ashton Griffin, Cody Slaubaugh, Jennifer Tilly, Jeremiah Smith and Justin Bonomo. The leader list has these players in the top 5:
  1. Robert Miller -- 154,000
  2. Kido Pham -- 110,000
  3. Jim Collopy -- 97,000
  4. Jason DeWitt -- 94,000
  5. Josh Brikis -- 90,000
Dinner break will be for 90 minutes until 8:30 PM

9:26 PM
Joe Sebok lost with his pocket 5's to a caller who improved his A 6 hand, to send the noted player off to the showers. We couldn't tell if Erick Lindgren was in front or close behind Sebok, but he was railbound as well.

10:35 PM
Gone are Alec Torelli, Brandon Adams, Annette Obrestad, JC Alvarado, Adam Geyer, Josh Goldstein and Jane Gold who is the mother of Jamie Gold.

11:56 PM
Shawn Buchanan was recently eliminated from the field. After calling and checking his opponent to the turn, Buchanan then called the all-in move made by the other player. River card fell and his opponent showed paired Jacks. Buchanan simply mucked his hand and left his chair empty without a word to anyone.

12:00 AM
Tournament officials told everyone to bag their chips and come back on Day 2. Good night all!
